Thieves Crock Post 1 Office Safe

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, • This Day. Using an acetylene cutting torch, stolen earlier in the evening from Yaldhurt, thieves last night cut their way into a safe at Taitapu post office, 12 miles from Christchurch, and decamped with the contents. Officials of the Post and Telegraph Department said this afternoon that it would not be known how much money had been stolen until a balance had been worked out.
