(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. A thrilling match between Auckland A. joint winners last year of the K Cup, with Otago, and Eastern Southland, a former champion side, was one of the features of the New Zealand women’s hockey tournament yesterday.

Eastern led 3 —2 at half time, but could not withstand some brilliant movements in the second spell by Auckland, who won 5—3. M. Coldham, the Auckland centre-forward, was outstanding. She scored four of her team’s five goals. Results were:— Section A: Wairarapa 3, Manawatu 1; Nelson 3, Marlborough 0; Wellington A 6, Bush 1. Section B: Rangitikei 5, Wellington Maoris 0: Otago 4, Wanganui 2. Section C: Auckland A 5, Eastern Southland 3; Taranaki 4, South Canterbury 1. Section D: Ashburton 4, Akitio 0; Canterbury A '3, Auckland B 0.
