British Planes Break 2 Records

(Rec. 10.0 a.m.) LONDON, Aug. 31. British aircraft broke two world’s records racing at the international rally at Lympne today. Croup-Captain John Cunnningham beat the air speed record made last year by Lieutenant R. Baird (America) in a Lockheed Shooting Star fighter, giving Britain the record for the first time in 15 years. A de Havilland Vampire I won the 100 kilometres closed circuit race at 496.88 m.p.h.

A Cilton aircraft won the class I race over 100 kilometres at 124.5 m.p.h
