Republicans Report More Dutch Attacks

(Rec. 10.30.) BATAVIA, Aug. 28. A Dutch attack on Wagir, south-west of Malang, in East Java, from two directions and supported by mortars, howitzers and a single plane that dropped bombs, is reported by the Republican Army in a broadcast from Jogjakarta tonight.

Indonesian casualties were five killed and many wounded.

Attacks were also made on two other places in the Malang district.

An additional five clashes in Central Java, two in Tasikmalaya and the Garut district of West Java, and one on Madura Island, are also reported. The Netherland’s press agency quotes well-informed circles for a statement that the Dutch Cabinet has decided to accept the good offices of the United Nations Security Council in the dispute.
