Fertiliser Supplies

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. '•Was the Minister aware that supplies of fertiliser ordered for last year were in many instances still undelivered, asked Mr W. J. Broadfoot (O—Waitomo) in an urgent question to the Minister of Railways (Mr Semple) in the House of Representatives this morning. Mr -Broadfoot suggested that to enable production to be maintained and increased, the Minister should arrange to speed up deliveries of fertiliser.

Mr Broadfoot suggested that it was time for sowing supplementary crops for dairy cows, and lack of fertiliser would seriously prejudice production. Mr Semple, replying, said that with the exception of a small quantity of cobalt superphosphate, distribution of last season’s manure output would be completed by the end of this week. At the present time the requirements of all works were being fully met - by the supply of railway wagons.
