Haarding, Broke Shield Matches
I Principal attraction in Northland Rugby tomorrow is the Harding Shield match between Bay of Islands and Mangonui. at Kaikohc. The Northern Wairoa junior representatives are making a bid to lift the Brake Shield, which they, lost to the present holders early last season, and Whangarei will have to put its best foot forward at Rugby Park to retain ! the Northland junior championship. The Whangarei senior representatives and the third-graders are travelling to Dargaville for games with Northern Wairoa. The fourth-grade representatives are playing Central third-graders. The senior, junior and third-grade knock-out competitions, and arranged games, complete the bill.
LEAGUE FARE Rugby League enthusiasts are well catered for with the City-T^akahiwai senior rrfntch. and the North Shore v. Whangarei juniors, at Jubilee Park, and the Kamo-Hikurangi game at Hikurangi. The Glen Afton team from South Auckland is playing a Whangarei side at Tangiteroria on Sunday. The final of the Whangarei hockey championship between Maungakaramea and Old Boys is being played at Maungakaramea tomorrow. A feature of the programme at Kensington Park is the representative fixture between the Northern Wairoa and Whangarei women's teams.
