Stevedoring Dispute

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. A compulsory conference of all parties to the Sydney stevedores' dispute sal until late last night, but reached no agreement. The president of the State Industrial Commission (Mr Justice Taylor) later summoned the parties to appeal before the commission on Monday. In Melbourne, tugmen have begun a strike, which has tied up 32 ships. Shipping agenls said the strike wa: holding up more than 50,000 tons oi food for Britain.

The 32 idle ships include seven ovc seas liners.
