Aircraft Carrier Arrives In N.Z.
(Special) WELLINGTON, This Day. The aircraft carrier Thesus and the destroyer Cockade with 1300 officers and ratings arrived at Wellington at 8 a.m. today, in gloriously fine weathc on a six-day visit. Pleasure at the visit was expressed by Rear-Admiral G. E. Creasy on board the Thesus.
“We had our first sight of New Zealand yesterday afternoon when, m lovely' sunny weather, we sighted Mount Egmont at a distance of 7a miles.
“The snow-capped summit looked ■magnificent,” he said. Entertainment has been arranged for the officers and men fill the ships leave for Auckland on Thursday. (SEE STORY PAGE (!.)
