Award Of £2270 Sn Damages Claim

(P.A.)

GISBORNE. This Day

The full amount claimed. £2270 damages, was awarded by the jury in the Supreme Court to Richard Sherwood Stephens in his action against the Crown arising from injuries he suffered in a collision on the East Coast highway last September. Trucks driven by Stephens and a Post and Telegraph Department employee were involved in a glancing collision as a result of which Stephens’ right elbow was shattered and his arm rendered practically useless. The jury held that the collision was due to the negligence of the driver of the P. and T. truck.
