J Force Men Here On Ship Dunera

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. The troopship Dunera, bringing nearly 1900 New Zealand servicemen home from Japan, arrived off Lyttelton Heads early this morning. Shortly after 9 a.m. the ship berthed and the task of disembarking 545 South Island personnel proceeded. The draft mainly comprised personnel who have completed just on a year’s service in Japan, and who are returning home to he discharged, but there is also a contingent of men’eoming home for leave before undertaking a further term of occupation service.

Mr Justice Northcioft and members of tlie 2YA concert party are also passengers.
