Prince Of Wales Cup Match Plans
RUGBY
The venue of the Prince of Wales Cup match between Tai Tokerau and Tai Hauauru (West Coasti this season is to be fixed by the council ol' the JTZRU when it meets in Wellington at the end of this month.
The New Zealand Maori Advisory Board, will assemble at the same time and is expected to make recommendations to the council. In the meantime, Northland Maori Rugby officials are carrying on with comprehensive plans to make tlie occasion a gala one.
Efforts are being made to bring the Te Aute College lirst XV North to play the Whangarei Boys’ High School in the main curtain-raiser and it is also hoped to arrange a game between the Northland native school representatives, and the Northland primary school rep. side. The Te Aute and. Whangarei teams last played in 1925. when the two
schools met in a match for the IVloascar Cup. Whangarei High at halftime led by eight points to six, but lost their grip in the second spell and Te Aute finished up winners, 40 —8. The question of transport for the Te Aute team presents a 'problem to the Northland Maori Advisory Board, but it is hoped to arrange air travel to avoid too much loss of school time.
The entertainment of the visiting cup challengers is also under way. If it is played at Whangarei, the match and all the celebrations will probably be staged at Kensington Park.
