Gratitude For Food Drive

(Rec. 10 a.m.)

LONDON, June 16

“I am well aware of the generous action of the people of New Zealand in voluntarily surrendering food coupons, thus increasing the exportable surplus available to this country,” said the Under-Secretary for Dominions (Mr Bottomley) in the House of Commons to a question .by Commander Noble whether he knew of the great New Zealand drive for food for Britain during the past few months. “I again express publicly on behalf of the Government and people of this country our deep sense of gratitude for these generous acts as well as for the continuing supply of gifts of food both in bulk and in individual parcels.”
