Still 9,000,000 Slaves In World

LONDON. June 16.

The International Conference on Human Rights decided to ask the United Nations to abolish slavery in all parts of the world. A special commission is to be set up to inquire into discrimination on the grounds of race. It was stated that there are approximately 9,000.000 people in the world still living under some form of slavery. There are about 2.000.000 child slaves in China. 2,000.000 slaves in Abyssinia. 700,000 in Arabia. 300,000 in Liberia and other parts of Africa and India, and also 4,000,000 peons in Latin America.

The conference unanimously recommended disqualification from the United Nations of any member which does*not abolish slavery.
