OBITUARY

(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. A former headmaster of the Christchurch Boys’ High School. Mr George Joseph Lancaster, has died, at the age of 73. Born in Liverpool, he was educated at the Christchurch Boys’ High School and Canterbury University College. He was appointed a master at St John’s College, Auckland, in 1896. Mr Lancaster held the position of headmaster at the Christchurch High School from 1924 until 1940.
