Dairymen Lose Heavily
(Special.) AUCKLAND, This Day. Thousands of pounds in the aggregate are being lost by dairy farmers in Auckland Province as a result of the beef butchers’ “go-slow” policy at various freezing works, now in its fourth week. So serious has the matter become that the Federated Farmers’ organisation in the Waikato is pressing for an early settlement, but desires an independent survey of the dispute from all sides before taking action. Farmers, who have been obliged to retain culls in their herds because of the inability of freezing works to handle them, due to the dispute, are suffering most- Their feed, has been heavily reduced and they are now faced with the problem of making herd replacements and sacrificing culls.
