Whangarei Rail Official Farewelled

Mr P. J. Holland, who has been stationmaster’s clerk, Railway Department, Whangarei, for the past eight and a half years has been transferred to the position of stationmaster at Waiouru, and v/as farewelled at a social held in the Warrington Studios. The stationmaster at Whangarei (Mr D. R. S. Munro) spoke of his past association with Mr Holland, and said that it had been a pleasure to work with him. On behalf of all branches of the department, he presented Mr Holland' with a silver tea service. Mr and Mrs Holland replied, expressing their thanks for the gift and for the kindness they had always received from officers of the department in Whangarei. A large attendance of railway officers and their wives attended the social and dancing occupied the rest of the evening. Mr and Mrs Holland left for Wai-.-,t,ru on the express on Thursday. Mr I. C. Scudder, of Auckland, will replace Mr Holland.
