Canadian Car Plants Work At High Speed

Canadian automobile manufacturing plants are humming with peacetime activity these days, to meet both the domestic and foreign demands for motor vehicles.

The lastest figures for the month of February, show that 20,810 units rolled off the assembly lines — the highest monthly total in recent years. This compares with 19,045 units in January, 17,348 in December and 7484 in February 1946. The January - February total of 39,855 compares with 15,979 units produced *in the same period last year. In February, 9,012 passenger vehicles were produced for sale in Canada and 4,538 for export, while 4,594 commercial vehicles were built for the domestic market and 2,666 for sale abroad.
