Kaitawa Power In September?
The Kaitawa hydro-electric plant, progress on which was inspected yesterday by the Minister of Works ilVIr Semple), will probably add its 32,0011 kilowatts of power to the North Island supply system early next September.
The start of supply in three months is. of course, contingent on there being no delays in the delivery of electrical equipment from the United Kingdom. The 32.000 kilowatts capacity for which Kaitawa is designed will bring the total capacity of the Wakaremoana scheme to 124,000 kilowatts, for Tuai is rated at 52.000 and Piripaua. the second section of the scheme to be completed, at 40.000.
