Sydney Homes Flooded

(Rec. 11.30 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day.

When 147 points of rain fell in Sydney in 30 hours, hundreds of homes, mostly in Redfern and Bondi, which have not been repaired since the hailstorm on New Year’s Day, were again flooded.

The downpour, which was not unusually severe, also caused two road accidents, started a fire when an electric cable snapped in the suburb of Concord, closed Mascot Aerodrome for several hours last night, delayed the working of ships, and forced engineers at Bunnerong to black-out a number of suburbs. Authorities say that with this “dress rehearsal" showing the urgency of the position, they are unable' to promise relief during the colder winter months.
