Post-Mortem Dr Dead At Hospital

(Rec. 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, June 2. Dr James Montague Houston, 39, pathologist at Southport Infirmary, who was associated with the first postmortem on the fourth wife of Dr R. G. Clements .who died after an autopsy had been ordered on his fourth wife, was found dead at the infirmary today.

An inquest will be held tomorrow. The Evening News says it has been disclosed that the father of Dr Clement's fourth wife—Mr Reginald William Barnett, a cartage company director — died intestate in 1940, leaving an estate valued at £22,386.

The newspaper added that the fourth Mrs Clements was the only person entitled to the estate.

The Evening News says Dr Clements received £924 from his three previous wives, all of whom died intestate. His first wife left £lO, the second £425, and the third £489. THIRD WIFE’S CREMATION

Police tried to prevent the cremation in 1939 of Mrs Kathleen Clements, third wife of Dr Clements, says the Daily Express. Their telephone call reached the Liverpool crematorium as the cremation was taking place. The police acted on the report of a woman friend of Mrs Kathleen Clements. Dr Clements never knew of the police action. The police are now making widespread inquiries, following the autopsy on the fourth Mrs Clements.

Dr Houston was to have been a witness at the resumed inquest on Mrs Clements on June 24, says the Daily Express. The police believe Mrs Clements’ organs were destroyed in an incinerator after the first examination.
