Britain, Dominions Discuss U.S. Offers

(Rec. 11.0 a.m.) LONDON, April 25. The exchange of lists of requests and offers between the British and American delegations at the World Trade Organisation has been followed by a series of discussions between the United Kingdom and Empire countries, says the Geneva correspondent cf The Times. The American offer appears to be rather less good than expected, though it contained some agreeable surprises on commodities of minor (interest. The United Kingdom delegation, in its study cf the United States offer, is compelled to resort to a somewhat cumbersome procedure. because on each point reference has to be made to Dominions' experts, who, in turn, are often obliged to consult one another. It must, therefore, be some days before the United Kingdom delegation can be ready .to meet the Americans for direct negotiations.
