Disappearance Of UNO Documents

(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, April 23. The Secretary-General of UNO (Mr Trygve Lie) revealed that a suitcase filled with documents disappeared while the Security Council’s Balkans investigation commission was en route from Greece to Geneva. There was still no evidence that the documents were stolen and the commission was trying to trace the suitcase. It was reported early in April that certain irregularities were committed by some members of the commission and some documents tampered with. Mr Lie sent an aide to Geneva to confer with members of the commission.
