How Storm Started
The week-end storm was caused by the movement of an intense low pressure area from the north-west of the Northland Peninsula. At noon on Saturday an extensive area of low pressure was centred i!SO miles north-west of North Cape and a frontal disturbance associated with it moved over the North Island on Saturc.ay afternoon and night.
