CHARITY GETS BULK

Ford's Vast Estate .

(Rec. 11.0 a.m.) DETROIT, April 18. Mr Henry’s Ford’s will was filed for probate today. The amount of the estate was not disclosed, but unofficial estimates placed it at 700,000,000 dollars.

The family attorney (Mr Clifford Longley) would give no estimate. Mr Ford has bequeathed all voting stock in the Ford Motor Co. to his four grandchildren; all non-voting stock was bequeathed to the Ford Foundation, an institution chartered for receiving and administering funds for scientific, educational and charitable purposes. Mr Ford’s widow was appointed executrix.

The Associated Press says the nonvoting shares constitute the bulk of Mr Ford’s estate.

Mr Ford’s will stipulated that, as far as possible, bequests made to his wife and the voting shares should be given to the legatees intact and without diminution.
