Cyclist Killed At Moerewa
Overtaken by a motor van on the main highway at Moerejva at 8 p.m. yesterday Mr Eric Oswald Gwynn Jones, aged 49, married, with one child, was thrown from his bicycle. He received a fractured skull which caused his death. The van, which was driven by Mr Selwyn Graham Tattersall, was proceeding in the same direction as the cyclist. Visibility was hampered by heavy rain. Mr Jones was employed as a chamber hand at the Moerewa freezing works. An inquest was held this morning before the district coroner (Mr T. J. V. Dunlop) and was adjourned sine die
