Matapouri Gymkhana
In spite of a stormy day, with only a few clear spells the events at the Matapouri Gymkhana on Saturday went off with the same indomitable spirit as at all such functions in Northland this year. A pleasing number of spectators braved the weather. Some excellent jumping was seen, with only one point between places in the main event, and only one minor spill caused by -a broken stirrup.
The athletic events had to be cancelled as very few competitors came forward in the rain. Chopping and sawing went on in spite of the weather but conditions were very difficult. Results:—
