Mr A. B. Hammond
(Special) AUCKLAND, This Day. Mr Arthur Bedford Hammond, formerly secretary of the Kauri Timber Company in Auckland, died yesterday, aged 75 years. He was.born at Ponsonby and educated in Auckland. He joined the Kauri Timber Company at Aratapu, which was then a big timber-milling centre. Later he was appointed manager of the firm’s bush and milling establishment in the Northern Wniroa. When the company ceased operations there over £0 years ago ho came to Auckland as secretary, which position he held until he retired in 1932. Mr Hammond was keenly interested in farming and owned several farms in Northland, where he bred prize show horses. He is survived by one son and two daughters.
