WELLINGTON, This Day
Confirmation has been received from the office of the Public Service Commission that the Public Service Appeal Board has upheld an appeal by Wing Commander E. A. Gibson. Director of Air Transport, against the appointment of Group Captain A. E. Clouston as Director of Civil Aviation.
Appeals against the appointment were lodged both by Wing Commander Gibson and by the former acting-. Controller of Civil Aviation (Mr .J. M. Buekeridgc). The latter, however, recently resigned and left for England to take up an important appointment, with the British Ministry of Civil Aviation.
The appointment of Group Captain Clcuston, who is it present nerving with the Royal Air Force in Germany, was made recently by the Public Service Commission.
The appellants were represented before the Public Service Appeal Board by Dr C. C. Mazengarb, assisted by Mr J. Turnbull, secretary ol’ the Public Service Association.
The decision announced yesterday means that, the appointment automatically goes to” Wing Commander Gibson.
