Jones-Stevens Fight

(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The meeting of the Boxing Control Council adjourned from last Friday was continued last night. Asked after the meeting if any decision had been made on any action to stop the fight arranged by the Hutt Valley Boxing Association between Jones and Stevens, the secretary, Mr George Aldridge, said: “No.” He added that he - had no statement to make on behalf of the council.

The president of the Hutt Valley Boxing Association, Mr L. Stewart, said last night: “The contest fixed for Easter Saturday between Jones an<3 Stevens will take place and any attempt to prevent it will be at the peril of the persons responsible.”
