The disconnection of electric water heaters, which in the aggregate consume a substantial amount, of electricity. is believed to be one of the methods likely to be adopted for making further savings in power. The Minister of Works (Mr-Semple) indicated last week .that .more .drastic methods than thpse already adopted for saving power were under consideration by the Government, but so far no announcement has been made of the form these are to take. The general manager of the State Hydro-Electric Department (Mr T.-F. M. Kissel) said last night that all sorts of methods for saving power had been discussed. “No decision has yet' been made, but the situation is still bad,” he said.
