The Far Eastern Commission announced that it has directed General MacArthur to restrict severely Japanese consumption of textiles, hardware, rubber goods, pottery and electrical goods so that Japan can supply the areas she invaded during the war. General MacArthur was also instructed to stimulate production of textiles and machinery, coal and other products needed in the devastated Far East areas.
