RSA DEFERS DECISION ON WAR MEMORIAL

THE Whangarei branch of the RSA has informed the Whangarei Borough Council that it cannot define its attitude towards the various proposals for district war memorials until after its annual general meeting on May 6.

The executive, at a' meeting specially convened for this purpose, arrived at this decision last night. Being a body properly interested in the memorial the association has asked the council’s Provisional War Memorial Committee that proposals should

not be submitted to the public until the association is able to reach a decision. •‘lt is possible.” the letter states, “that members of this association will approve a type of memorial different from any yet proposed.”
