Kensington Post Office

The following letter regarding the erection of a post office in Kensington was received this morning by Mr A. J. Murdoch, M.P. l’or Marsden, from the Postmaster-General (Mr Hacketti: "In reference to your inquiry as 1o the progress in the establishment of a post office in Whangarei North, I have to say that my department appreciates the need for providing full post office facilities at Whangarei North, and is at present taking action to acquire a site at the corner of Kamo Road and Kensington Avenue on which to erect a post office building at some future date.

"On account of the many urgent works required by my department and the need for the allocation of priorities on a Dominion-wide basis to ensure the most equitable use of available building resources, you will appreciate that it is not possible at present to say when the building proposed for Whangarei North will be erected.”
