Good Omen For Onerohi Rugby
The Onerahi Rugby Club is to enter a junior team, and, if possible, a fourth-grade side in the Whangarei Union’s competitions this season. At a- well-attended annual meeting last night, the retiring president (Mr H. Curtis) referred to the practice in the past of players straying to town clubs when their support was needed by the local team.
The presence of a large number of players at the meeting, however, provided a happy omen for the season and and club hopes to field a XV composed wholly of Onerahi residents. Mr Curtis congratulated the club on, sticking together last season and he felt certain that the fruit would be borne this year. Officers elected were:-—Patron. Mr H. Stewart; president. Mr N. Stewart; vice-presidents, Messrs A. H. Slade. W. Bartlett, A. S. Fagan, W. A. Given, J. Shipmen and J. Noone; secretary, Mr G. Dyer.
