Kerikeri Suggestion For Memorial Highway
'(Special.) AUCKLAND, This Day j A suggestion to construct a highway j throughout New Zealand as a war ] memorial was contained in a letter I from Mr C. A. Cresswell. of Kerikeri, j which was received at a meeting of j the Automobile Association (Auckland) j last night. ; Mr F. G. Farrell said motorists were ; paying a large amount of money in j taxation which was devoted to highways and he did net see why the Government should be relieved of the responsibility for attending to roading. It was decided to consider the letter when more information on the proposal i was available.
