America Protests To Netherlands

(1.30 p.m.) WASHINGTON. Mar. 5. The United States has protested against the seizure by the Netherlands authorities of the American ship Martin Behrman after it took a cargo aboard at Cheribon.

A protest also was made against the Netherlands Indies trade restrictions under which the ship’sl cargo was confiscated.

The protest, which was delivered by the American Embassy at The Hague, asserted that the restrictions were paralysing trade in the East Indies and depriving the world of food and other badly needed commodities.
