Arrest of Australian
(Special) HAMILTON. This Day. Arrested on a provisional warrant in Hamilton yesterday morning am Australian. Bernard Hambridge. appeared before Mr S. L. Paterson. S.M., yesterday afternoon charged with obtaining the sum of £895 from Robert Lawrence Henry Penn under false pretences in New South Wales in February. Evidence was given by the police that accused arrived at Auckland by fivingboat on February 17 soon after the alleged offence. Bail was refused and accused will remain in custody until Friday, when a detective will arrive from Sydney.
