So runs the annual report to be submitted to the annual meeting by the president (Mr L. R. Nelson) tonight. Mr Nelson records the thanks of the committee to members, and particularly to the women, for their splendid assistance during the season. Income amounted to £1660/19/3 as against £lll6/3/8 the previous year. Subscriptions were £1047/13/6 compared with £740/18/-. Rising costs tended to increase the expenditure each year, Mr Nelson reports, but after investing £235/4/- as required by the special resolution passed at the last annual meeting, a surplus of £203/14/10 is shown in the balance sheet. The cash account shows a credit of £312/15/10 but there are still three months to go before next year’s subscriptions come in. The links and greens were in excellent condition last season despite the fact that the drought the previous summer had played havoc with the greens. The committee has prepared a programme of improvements which includes the replacing or repairing of boundary fences. INCREASED MEMBERSHIP Membership last season was 179 men and 145 women. The previous year the rolls showed 134 and 107. Inter-club matches were played with Whau Valley, Waitangi and North Shore and tournaments were held at Easter, Labour week-end and for the Northland championship.
