Northland Civil Servants At Bawls

Fourteen full rink teams took part in Northland’s first public service bowling tournament at Kensington yesterday. The winning four, representing the Health Department, comprised Courtney. Quennell, Mealings and Webster. They beat E. Dennis’ railways learn in the final, 12 —9. These two fours scored four wins in sectional play. Webster established a lead and on the last head. Dennis required four to win. He held three shots till Webster drove with his last bowl to kill the head and win. Visiting teams came from Russell and Waipu.
