PSA, Commission Resume Relations
(P.A.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Relationships beween Public Service Commission and the New Zealand Public Service Association were restored as from today. The comritission withdrew' recognition of the association last Tuesday when the association gave its full support to the refusal of the mental hospital staffs to work overtime. The acting-president of the association (Mr L. G. Anderson) said that advice had been received ‘from the Public Service Commission that it was prepared to resume relations with the asssociation. The association had accepted this. Mr Anderson's announcement followed a meeting of executive officers. Earlier in the day a meeting with the Prime Minister (Mr Fraser) had been held. ' No further official statement is made, but it is understood the matter in dispute, concerning overtime payments in mental hospitals, has. not yet been settled.
