'Greater Share' In Harbour Industry
(Special) WELLINGTON. This Day A greater share of the industry in which they were employed was claimed by delegates at the annual conference of the New Zealand Harbour Boards Employees’ Union. “Very serious” deliberations about the attitude of employers to the union’s application for a new award, were reported by the secretary (Mr R. Freeland).
There had been a long delay in getting a settlement. The conciliation proceedings last week had been ad-joux-ned until March 12, he said. National officers elected included: President, Mr J. B. Gilder (Lyttelton); vice-president, Mr J. Dudfield (Wellington); secretai-y. Mr R. Freeland).
