Face Charges Of Violence/ Robbery

(P.A.) AUCKLAND. This Day. A sequel to the assault and robbery in a house in the city at midnight on Tuesday, when two Chinese were the victims, was the appearance in the Police Court today of Selwyri Capwan, 21. ship’s fireman, and Benso Scalabrini, 20. American seaman.

They were charged jointly with robbing Charlie Wong Chuck and Fong Hor, of 1800 American dollars valued at £540. two half-sovereigns. £471 in money, a gold chain, and a £2 gold piece, of a total value of £1024, and also charged with using personal violence to the two Chinese.

The court was crowded with spectators when the men were charged. The accused were remanded until January 31. The accused were arrested at Hamilton yesterday.
