RUSSIAN BLONDE STOWED AWAY
(11 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 22. A Russian-born blonde, Anna Zemit, 37, reached Shannon, Eire, by a Constellation plane en route from Newfoundland to Paris, after having stowed away on a Paris-Iceland-New-foundland plane. It is believed that she is the first successful transatlantic air stowaway. The authorities discovered her at Newfoundland and are now returning her to Paris.
Eire police are keeping her in Limerick Gaol for two days because the plane has engine trouble. Zemit, weeping, said: “I L would rather spend my life in an Irish prison than return to Paris, where trouble is awaiting me."
