Swiss Will Refuse Finance For Austria
(Rec. 10 a.m.) LONDON, Jan. 21 Switzerland has been informed through diplomatic channels that the Allies are preparing an earnest request that Switzerland help Austria financially in reconstruction, says the Exchange Telegraph’s Berne correspondent. He ciuotes the leading Swiss newspaper Neue Zuercher Zeitung as saying the request will be bluntly rejected. , . Switzerland has already spent hundreds of millions of francs on Europe s rehabilitation and. further credits are impossible to Austria, whose industrial capacity has been severely damaged by the extraction of reparations.
