Plan Mercer Memorial
(P.A.) CHRISTCHURCH. This Day. Consideration of a statute to establish a Mercer memorial scholarship in aeronautics jo memory of Mr J. C. Mercer, who was killed in an aircraft accident in 1944 after 27 years' pioneer work in New Zealand air transport, was deferred for one year by the University Senate because no information as to funds available had been received. Money to endow a scholarship is being collected by tlie Air Pilots’ Guild of New Zealand and friends and admirers of Mr Mercer.
