Mosquitoes Leave Effigiemd Tuesday
(Special, 10 a.i,,., ; Jv n\iDON, Dec. G. The first 10 of tlie GO Mosquito aircraft bought by the New Zealand Government from Great Britain will take off from the Pershore airfield, near Worcester, for Oluikea, at about 8 a.m. GMT on Tuesday.
They are being flown by aircrews of No. 1 ferry unit of No. 4G group, of the Transport Command. The majority of the members of the crews are English, including two flightlieutenants with the DEC and bar.
The only New Zealander is FlyingOfficer B. H. G. Nation, of Wellington, a former bomber pilot who is now serving on an extended commission in the Royal Air Force. Flying an average of four to five hours daily in daylight, the Mosquitoes are expected to arrive in New Zealand about December 21 or 22. The route will be: Castelbenito (Tripoli), Lydda (Palestine), Mauripur, Calcutta. Rangoon, Singapore, Java, Darwin. Garbutt, Sydney and Ohakea.
