Paid No Duty

(Rec. 1.30 p.m.) BRISBANE. This Day. Albert Henry Pianta, 48, brother-in-law of the Queensland Minister of Health and. Home Affairs (Mr Foley), was fined £l5O in the Police Court for possessing manufactured tobacco on which no excise had been paid. Following a stir in the State Parliament, when the leader of the People’s Party (Mr B. Pie) moved a notice of no confidence in the Government, the Speaker ruled the notice out of order. In court it was stated that defendant did not wish it to be inferred that anyone else was associated with him in the ownership of the tobacco, which was found on property owned by Mr Foley.
