Eight Wickets In Two Overs

Bevan Switzer, 13-year-old pupil ot the Takahue primary school, playing junior cricket for Mangataiore, against Peria last week-end, performed a feat approaching a record.

In his first over lie accomplished one better than the hat trick, securing four wickets with consecutive balls. In his second over he performed the hat trick, failed with his next ball, but look, another wicket with his fifth. Thereby he secured eight wickets in two overs.

This remarkable performance is enhanced by the fact that all his victims were clean bowled. Bevan is the son of Mr S. Switzer, Mangonui rep. cricketer.

He bowls considerably above the usual pace for his years.
