Exceptional Sales For Health Stamps
(P.A.) ' WELLINGTON, This Day. North,? Island health stamp sales totalled £18.063 and South Island sales £16,986. according to a statement by the Postmaster General <Mr Webb) yesterday. Already half of the total issue of health stamps had been sold.
Sales for the first week were in keeping with those for the first day and show a great advance on the first week’s sales in any previous year. In addition to New Zealand sales, orders from overseas and special clients amounted to £11,338.
Principal post offices have sold £46,387 worth of the stamps, against £27,498 last year. The Whangarei Chief Post Office, which was 22nd on the Dominion list, sold £l9l/15/3, compared with £-J3 13/3 on the first day last year.
