The ambition of Mr George Laing,lndependent Labour candidate for Hutt, is to shift Mr Nash from the electorate. “If I can shift him I will have done a service for New Zealand,” he said. “I will also have done a great service to the Labour Party. “I say that in all sincerity. No one has sabotaged the implementation of Labour policy so well as Mr Nash.” He appealed to the electors to make Mr Nash not the “Wizard of Oz,” but the "Wizard that Woz.” •

Mr Laing said he was not antiLabour. He stood 100 per cent behind the policy as enunciated by Mr Savage. There semed to be grave doubt as to Labour's re-election and the reason was Mr Nash.
